10 down…24 to go!

We are now ten games and we have quite a battle brewing for the Sabowl.
Twenty-four games to go.
…And four very big games today.

In honor of Notre Dame playing today, we want to start this day of with the challenge to Sabowl like a champion today.  http://youtu.be/cTdSkVbkZRI

New Era Pinstripe Bowl at Yankee Stadiumthk
12:00 pm
ESPN
Notre Dame vs. Rutgers

Yankee Stadium was the site of the famous “Win One For The Gipper” Speech by Knute Rockne in 1928 in a game versus Army.

http://youtu.be/NmY7ttVNiWo

It was created in the 1993 favorite, Rudy, starred by a scrappy and always hungry hobbit-Sean Austin.

When it comes to the game, Notre Dame is by far the better team.  The fact is that if Rutgers was not a New York city team, ththey would not have ever been considered for this bowl game.  However, they will bring a crowd.  The last thing that the Steinbrenner’s want is an empty stadium for this game.  The tricky part of this will be the spread-17.5 points.  This is the largest spread of the Sabowl and should be interesting to watch.
Belk Bowl
3:20 pm
ESPN
North Carolina vs. Cincinnati

This game finds some good ole fashioned home cooking that would make Aunt Bea raise her eyebrows.  thllllBelk was founded in 1888 in the town of Monroe, North Carolina.  And of course, who is playing in this game?  North Carolina.  Coincindence I am sure.   At the same time, Cincinnati will be making their second straight Belk Bowl appearance.

NC is favored by 2.5 points even though Cincinnati ranks higher in almost all catagories.

Cincinnati is coached by Tommy Tuberville.  I will disclose ground breaking insight on how Reggie Bush and Tommy Tuberville have impacted this year’s championship game.

Russell Athletic Bowl
6:45 pm
ESPN
Louisville vs. Miami

Earlier this season, this matchup was looking like a potential BCS showdown.  However, there have some bumps in the road and both teams are now playing in the Russell Athletic Bowl.  Miami and Louisville are a couple of good football teams and this should be a good game.  Both have some potential on offense while Louisville has demonstrated significant strength on defense.  This could be the difference maker.

This video demonstrates how Russell Athletic clothing allow Mark Ingram to do something.  It is too complex for me to understand.

Buffalo Wild Wings Bowl
10:45 pm
ESPN
Kansas State vs. Michigan

This game is also called the “Why in the World Do You Start a Bowl Game at 10:45 at Night?  Are You Kidding Me? Bowl”.

Kansas State is favored by 3.5 here.  The irony is that Michigan will have to start a true freshman at QB and he will have to go back to the hotel at half time due to his age and curfew restrictions.  Kansas State has not won a bowl game in a decade and this may be their time.  It will be up to Michigan QB Shane Morris to step and prove that he is a big, strong man.

I think Notre Dame should be satisfied with a 10-3 lead right now. They need to start burning the clock now. I dont think its very Christian to run the score up. Just a thought, time will tell if they feel the same way as me.

Rutgers defense has shown some heart today. Hard to ask for more from them. Still a good amount of time to get Sabowled a new one.

Now on to another game. Has anyone seen the uniforms for the NC/Cin game? This will be a tough game to watch.

Rudy would be ashamed, I think he’d prefer to play on the other side of that game he finally got to play in.

    Don’t blame him.

Wow – SABOWL dictionary! Why do we not have one already! I’m gonna work on this. Other additions? Locker Room, SABOWL’d, SABOWL syndrome, Mike Gundy, commissioner…

I must not have read that far into Rebecca’s novel, not sure I made it past table of contents. Props to Rebecca who deserves credit for that idea then.

Well this game could have had a better start but it is still early. Not worried. These teams can be so inconsistent but can settle down.

Thank you for respecting my dictionary request from long ago. Better late than never. Allow me to add more terms to your dictionary: int, D, FG, Mark Ingram, “win one for the gipper”, Aunt Bea. Basically everything that Michael says.

      oh, sorry…

      int

(interception or when a defensive (team that does not possess (have) the ball) player catches a pass (ball thrown by a offensive (team that has the ball) player) by the offense (the team that has the ball))

I will try to do more but that wore me out.

        This is my Title.

        Here is my first subheading.
a.) fyi: wikipedia is not clarifying your acronyms…according to wikipedia:
        i.) FG may refer to:
Femtogram (fg), a unit of mass
Fg, abbreviation used in physics for the force exerted by gravity
Fiberglass, a material that includes fine fibers of glass
Fixed-gear, a bicycle without the ability to coast
Functional grammar (disambiguation), grammar models and theories for natural languages
ii.) I’m assuming that Michael is NOT using FG to refer to functional grammar…since the majority of Sabo boy posts tend to lack in this area.
iii.) I’m going to go with the wikipedia definition that I discovered after tireless hours of searching for the most relevant usage of FG in the Sabowl locker room…it MUST mean field goal.
iv.) This discovery of the meaning of Michael’s use of the FG acronym was NOT due to the assistance of the so called “Sabowl dictionary” since it is not under quick links or under the headings on the home page. #joshfail

        This is my second heading.
a.) I would like to direct you to another wonderful definition that I found on Wikipedia (the nice little site that Josh has so nicely introduced me to #thankyoubutnothankyoujosh)
i.) Winning: Winning is a 1969 movie starring Paul Newman.
        Winning may also refer to:

Winning (book), a 2005 management book by Jack Welch
“Winning” (Santana song), a single from the band’s 1981 album, Zebop!
“Winning”, a song by Chris Rea from the album Wired to the Moon
“Winning”, a song by Emily Haines (and the Soft Skeletons) from the album Knives Don’t Have Your Back

        People with surname Winning
Thomas Winning (1925-2001), Scottish Roman Catholic cardinal
David Winning (born 1961), Canadian and American film director, producer, screenwriter
ii.) That little excerpt was just for your information in case you were curious.
iii.) Now I would like to provide you with a little message that I created with the assistance of our new “Sabowl Dictionary” that I discovered through Josh’s link and NOT under the quick links or headings.
iv.) Do not fear the LOCKER ROOM because of MIKE GUNDY. #REBECCALENGTH will comfort you and ROOKIEJOE will steal your SABOWL. The SABOWL MOTTO is catchy though it will not comfort you in times of SABOWL SYNDROME which is likely what you’re currently feeling as I am ensuring that you are all SABOWLED. I hope that you enjoy your TOILET BOWL that I am currently housing in my cabinet which proudly displays the TOILET SABOWL MOTTO which you will receive very soon.

If anyone has a few minutes, go back and look at last year’s December 28 post and read the comments. It was like opening a family scrapbook. Great memories. Sort of. But still worth it.

There is some SABOWL gold in that thread!

      New SABOWL motto:
The beauty and mystery of the SABOWL is that it simultaneously draws our family closer together & farther apart.

      New Toilet Bowl motto:
      Blame it on the spread!

      Locker Room hashtags

      SABOWL party!

Are we going to shoot for 136 this year?

Teddy Bridgewater is the only reason I made that pick. You never pick against him in the Sabowl. He realizes how important this thing is.

No way I make it into the new year. I am working on my concession speech at this very moment. Does a brown paper bag accompany the toilet bowl trophy?

Danny there is a brown bag but you’ll find it on fire on your front porch with SABOWL dreams inside…I’ve received it many times

The first half of our families Sabowl VIII season is covered in a haze of medicine, cough drops and vapor rub. I was pretty sure the Irish at Yankee stadium was the perfect storm for a win especially since the spread was so high. All that Yankee and Notre Dame mojo in the same place should have ensured a magical win. Thankful for a ND win but that didn’t help me any did it? Blame it on the spread to make you upset over your beloved teams win. Love y’all -C
